Organic Model Success in 9th Level Review --- not in this class, but for when it happens.

Digital Sculpting using Mudbox or Zbrush
Due at the beginning of class 02 of Week 08.

Using your Organic Project mesh as a starting point, import all or part of your object into either Mudbox or Zbrush.

From there add appropriate detail to your geometry.

Export it from Mudbox or Zbrush, and bring it back into Max or Maya for completion.

For added credit, paint UV maps onto your object in Mudbox/Zbrush, then re-apply them in Max/Maya for rendering.

For final submission the following items should be included in a folder, (and ready to be presented):

  • Your final renders.

    • These include:

      • 1 print-ready rendering, (300 dpi, 8”X10”, 3000 pixels X 2400 pixels, landscape or portrait).

      • 3 800X600 renders

        • 1 full shot

        • 1 close-up

        • 1 detail of artists’ choice

    • These should all be TIF files

    • These should be labeled as:

      • ”artistLastName_artistFirstName_DigitalSculpt_shot01Full” (or “_shot02Close”, or “_shot03Detail”, or “_shot01Print”)

  • A PowerPoint presentation on your methods.

    • This should include:

      • At least three (3) slides of your work before bringing it into Mudbox/Zbrush.

      • At least six (6) slides of your working methods and pipeline inside of Mudbox/Zbrush.

      • At least three (3) slides demonstrating your method for bringing the work from Mudbox/Zbrush to Max/Maya.

      • Your three (3) final renders.

      • At least three (3) tips and tricks to share with the class.
